Polar Bear Dip Event Information
2026 will start off with the return of the 2nd annual UDVFD Polar Bear Dip! You are invited to join your local Uniacke volunteer firefighters for a crisp jump in the lake to start the year off right!
We will once again be “freezin’ for a reason” as we look to support Feed Nova Scotia and our local Uniacke Lakes Animal Hospital.

Registration Requirements
Prepare for the Dip
To take part in the Polar Bear Dip, participants must be at least 14 years old and sign a waiver at registration. Minors will need a legal guardian to consent and sign the waiver on their behalf.
Registration begins at 11 AM with the polar bear dip swim groups starting at 12 noon.
Registration fee is a non-perishable food item and/or gently used towels, sheets, or blankets for our furry friends.
Participants must wear water shoes or protective footwear in the water.
Remember to bring a warm towel and a change of clothes.
Hot beverages (coffee, tea, and hot chocolate) will be on hand and the community hall will be open for changing, washrooms and warming up.
